Tekni Post recently successfully implemented an innovative monitoring system for OCME S.p.A., a global leader in the production of packaging machinery. The challenge was to monitor the open and closed status of numerous doors within OCME’s vast industrial facility, a crucial requirement for safety and operational management.

Proposed Implementation
To address the client’s needs, Tekni Post installed battery-powered digital input transmitters (model WI-LORA-TX CONTACT) on each relevant door. These battery-powered devices, with a lifespan of up to 15 years, acquire signals from magnetic contacts and wirelessly communicate the “open” or “closed” status.
The data is collected by a single LoRaWAN Gateway (Milesight UG65 model), a robust device capable of managing communication with over 2000 sensors within a range of kilometers. The gateway, in turn, was integrated into the client’s pre-existing supervision system via the BACnet IP protocol.
The Tekni Post team developed customized graphical pages that display the facility’s floor plan with the exact location of each sensor, indicating its status in real-time. An alarm system was also configured to promptly notify any changes, improving responsiveness and safety.
